Photos relating to PSA's Reservations Centers. In the day, reservations was a key source of activity for PSA, since until 1978, PSA used an in-house reservation system that was not tied to other airlines.
From the beginning until 1963, reservations was handled out of local offices. More information will be added in the future on this subject.
In 1963, PSA contracted with Pacific Telehone to centralize reservations at SANMO (San Diego Main Office) on Lindbergh Field.
In 1968, reservations moved to the third floor of the new PSA Hangar and office complex, where it remained until 1978. The office steadily expanded over the years, necessatating the move to a new facility as the airline grew.
In 1978, reservations moved to a new facilty at Scripps Ranch, along with PSA computer services. This facility was joined by a new flight training building in 1981.
Reno reservations opened in 1986 to reduce telecommunication costs from the northern parts of the PSA system.
