John Hillerman (best known as Higgins on Magnum PI) was America West's spokesman for the Bird Of Paradise service to Honolulu. This ad discusses the benefits of flying on America West's 747 service to the islands. Variations of this ad appeared in most in-flight magazines during 1990.

1988 - 1991 Fast Check

What is Fast Check, you may ask...it was a service where you could perform drive-thru check-in in Phoenix, then park in a remote parking lot (Fast Checks were located in remote parking lots) and take a shuttle bus to the terminal. The left ad is from August 1988 and is the first Fast Check Ad; it also mentions a Fast Check in Tucson which was very short-lived. The one on the right is from 1991, and features the Fast Check facilities in the elevator lobbies in Terminal 4, as well as the off-airport remote lots.
