PSA bought two ex-Capital DC-4's in 1954, as the airline grew in popularity. The DC-4 offered more comfort than the DC-3, and held twice as many passengers. All four were retired from scheduled service in 1959, but some held on to perform charters until 1961. Jim Patterson recalls his first flight with the airline being in one of these airplanes, with a bunch of Indians at Winslow, Arizona...
