Poor
Sailor's Airline - the definitive book on PSA's history has just been
released by Paladwr Press. The book goes into much more detail than I
can on this web site, and includes many more of the stories that accompany
PSA - and the people who made it all happen. It is well worth the purchase,
not only for people interested in PSA but also interested in the history
of the industry.
Gary Kissel (the author) no longer has any copies available, but it is
still available through Airways
Magazine online. The book is getting harder to find as time goes on,
so if you want a copy, I suggest getting it now.
Captain
Jack Beck (REally TIRED) has released volume 1 of his memoir, "Flying
High". Beginning in his non-sked airline days in the late 1950s,
Jack continues on through being hired by PSA in the early 1960s on the
Lockheed Electra and through the Boeing 727. The stories, many centering
around alcohol, are quite wild and it's well worth a read.
The book can be purchased via Author
House, or on Amazon.com. A preview page can be found via the Author
House link.
